# How to apply for an IPO in MeroShare

New share issues in Nepal are applied for online in MeroShare through C-ASBA: the money stays in your bank account, blocked, until shares are allotted. You need a Demat account, MeroShare login and a CRN from your bank.

## 1. Find an open issue

Issues open for a few working days. Check who may apply: some IPOs are only for project-affected locals or for Nepalis working abroad.

## 3. Open My ASBA and pick the issue

Under My ASBA, the Apply for Issue tab lists open issues. Press Apply on the one you want.

## 4. Fill in the application

Select your bank and account, enter the number of shares (kitta) and your CRN, and accept the declaration. Most IPOs take a minimum of 10 kitta, usually Rs 1,000; the issue's prospectus sets the minimum and maximum.

## 5. Confirm with your PIN

Enter your 4-digit MeroShare transaction PIN. The amount is blocked in your bank account, not taken.

## 6. Wait for allotment

When an issue is oversubscribed, shares are allotted by lottery. If you get none, the blocked money is released; if you get shares, only their cost is taken.

Apply once per BOID; duplicate applications for one person can be rejected. Keep enough balance in the account until allotment.
