# IPO Allotment Chance Calculator

Enter the units offered to the public and the valid applicants from the allotment notice to see the chance one application gets shares, and how oversubscribed the issue was.

## How the lottery works

When applications for the minimum lot outnumber the lots on offer, lots are allotted by lottery, one each. Example: 1,000,000 units to the public and 400,000 valid applicants make 1,00,000 lots of 10, a 25.0% chance per application (4.0 times oversubscribed).
